Mayor's Charity Of The Year

BIU partner with local authorities, raising funds for the local Mayor’s Charity each year, the charity partners change each year as a new Mayor is elected.

BIU work with each local authority providing funding directly to support each cause. The charities range from local disability support to mental health charities, all vital to support and community facilities.

Don't just take our word for it

We encourage our residents to use textile banks across the city, so their unwanted clothes and shoes can help raise money for local causes. Southampton City Council has worked with the BIU Group for over 10 years and their banks are located at 25 sites across the city. BIU work with the council to raise funds for the Mayor’s Charities, which change each year. This year the Mayor has chosen the Southampton Children’s Hospital who need to develop a new Specialist Children’s Emergency and Trauma Unit and Southampton Sea Cadets who want to expand their premises so they can increase the number of young people wanting to join. Southampton City Council values the service BIU provide which is efficient and reliable. By diverting these items into reuse it prevents them from being thrown away, which is better for everyone. Thank you Bag it Up.
