Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
From October 2018 the new partnership between BIU Group and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is launching. Look out for the clothing banks placed in your local area! The Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) operating in the counties of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Every year the iconic yellow helicopter is dispatched to the most serious and time-critical 999 calls, from road traffic collisions and sporting accidents to cardiac arrests and falls.
Responding to approximately 1,000 missions every year which is an average of 3 a day – something that is only set to increase as they start to fly 24 hours a day in 2019.
The helicopter transports the equivalent of an A&E department to the scene of incidents and accidents, delivering high level pre-hospital critical care to patients, including advanced procedures that highly trained paramedics and on-board doctors can provide. Patients are transported to the best hospital for their needs in the most appropriate way, whether by air or by land. The new helicopter has the capacity to go from job to job, giving even more patients their best chance of survival possible in their greatest hour of need.
The Charity receives no direct Government funding which means they rely totally on donations from the community that they serve. It is only thanks to the generous support of local people, organisations and businesses that the Ambucopter is able to continue to respond to these serious incidents 365 days a year.
