Isle of Wight Search & Rescue

WightSAR provide skilled volunteers to assist Hampshire Constabulary and other agencies in searches for vulnerable missing persons on the Isle of Wight. They rely on donations from the public and Support from sponsors to fund the team.

Isle of Wight Search and Rescue (WightSAR) is a voluntary organisation that assist Hampshire Constabulary and other agencies in searches for vulnerable missing persons on the Isle of Wight.

What they do

WightSAR provides properly trained and equipped volunteers to assist official agencies in searching for missing vulnerable people. This includes the elderly, children and those deemed a risk to themselves.

WightSAR are members of Lowland Rescue

Lowland Rescue was conceived and created in 1991, with the association of 4 original teams. Over the past 25 years it has grown into 36 Teams, with over 1800 professionally qualified Volunteers, covering over a third of the UK.

We are members of UKSAR, alongside Mountains Rescue and the RNLI, providing official Search and Rescue coverage “From Hill to High Water”, whenever requested.
